Tiger Woods took home his 13th major  at the Southern Hills bringing him closer to Jack Nicklaus’ record of 18 major chmpionships. Now we are wondering when Tiger Woods will be beating that record. His fourth PGA Championship victory moved him one closer to the record, a chase that should dominate the sport’s attention over the next two, three, maybe four years, at most.

K.J. Choi Becomes First Golfer To Finish Jack Nicklaus-Tiger Roods Double

K.J. Choi has high ambitions and goals when it comes to her greatest passion, golf. And she was able to live up to those ambitions when she became the first golfer to complete the Jack Nicklaus-Tiger Woods double. Making a name for herself and being good at the game is bringing her closer to the goal of her dreams; “My life dream is to become the first Asian to ever have won a major,” Choi said. “And that’s something that I’m going to strive for very hard.”

Alexis Thompson Makes U.S. Women’s Open History

At the age of 12, Alexis Thompson has worked hard to qualify for the U.S. Women’s Open and in doing so has made history. The seventh-grade schoolgirl from Coral Springs, Florida, is mingling with her idols such as world number one Lorena Ochoa, Swedish star Annika Sorenstam, Australian legend Karrie Webb and more at the 3.1 million-dollar LPGA event. “I’m just excited that I made it. This whole week is going to be really cool,” she said. “It has been an awesome experience already. I’m just going to act normal and play my game.”

Michelle Wie Has A Hard Time

It seems like the majority of people are hoping that Michelle Wie will take a break after the McDonald’s LPGA Championship.  After injuring her wrists, Wie is finding it difficult to follow closely in the tournaments. She is finding that she is shooting more into the rough then she wants to and having a hard enough time trying to get it back out again. Not to mention she is having to call out her massage therapist in-between rounds.

Phil Mickelson Wins The Player’s Championship

Phil Mickelson engineered a almost flawless final round to claim a two-shot win at the nine million dollar Players Championship on Sunday. 

Rarely hitting a bad shot in a three-under-par 69 in perfect conditions at the Sawgrass TPC, Mickelson finished at 11-under 277 and collected 1.62 million dollars for his first victory at this event and his 31st on the PGA Tour.

So successful, in fact, that he’s is the only active golfer currently in the top 10 in PGA Tour and Major wins. By the age of thirty he’s already won 12 major events and has more wins than any other active golfer. At press time, he was awarded player of the year eight times in a row and led the money list for seven years - one behind Jack Nicklaus’s all time record of eight. In 2005 Tiger Woods was touted as being the highest earning athlete of any sport, earning an estimated 87 million US dollars.
