Pete Dye is considered to be one of the most influential golf course architects in this day and age. He has designed four courses for the Kohler Co – which will be formally given a position in the World Gold Hall of Fame on November 10th. Dye was chosen to win the Lifetime Achievement Category.

“I am surprised and extremely honored to be inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame and to be inducted with those who have contributed to the game I love,” Dye said at The Players Championship in Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla. He designed the Stadiuim Course at TPC Sawgrass.

Dye has not only designed the Blackwolf Run and the Whistling Straits in Kohler – but also the harbor Town Golf Links, the Ocean Course at Kiawah Island, the Crooked Stick, and the PGA West at LaQuinta in Palm Springs, California. These are only some of the more popular ones. In total he has designed close to 120 courses.
